Very predictable result when first ranked Taranto (10-1) won against at home 11th ranked Cagliari CUS (2-9) 72-58 on Sunday. The game without a history. Taranto led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Cagliari CUS's 30. They outrebounded Cagliari CUS 43-17 including a 18-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. American center Kia Vaughn (193-87, college: Rutgers) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 12 rebounds. Her fellow American import forward Megan Mahoney (183-83, college: Kansas St., agency: LBM Management) contributed with 10 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Four Taranto players scored in double figures.
