No shocking result in a game when second ranked Torino (13-5) beat at home 4th ranked Firenze (6-12) 93-78 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Torino. Firenze was better in second period 16-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Firenze's 42. They outrebounded Firenze 37-23 including a 25-14 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a good game for guard Marco Portannese (192-89, agency: Players Group) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 17 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists. Luca Fontecchio (202-91, agency: Players Group) contributed with 17 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Torino's coach Filippo Faina used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Forward Stefano Spizzichini (202-90) replied with 17 points and the former international center Federico Bellina (205-79, agency: Players Group) added 18 points in the effort for Firenze. Four Torino and five Firenze players scored in double figures. Torino have a solid four-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Trento. Newly promoted Firenze keeps the fourth place with 12 games lost. Torino will face league's second-placed Trieste on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Firenze will play against Casalpusterlengo and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
