A very interesting game took place in Treviso. It ended with only one-point home defeat of 13th ranked Benetton Treviso (5-9) to seventh ranked Umana Venezia (8-6) 68-67 on Sunday evening. Guest team only slightly avoided a big embarassment. Benetton Treviso was tied at the half but could not keep up in last two quarters eventually losing the game. The best player for the winners was American forward Tamar Slay (204-80, college: Marshall) who scored 13 points and 5 rebounds. Polish center Szymon Szewczyk (209-82) chipped in 10 points and 8 rebounds. Umana Venezia's coach Andrea Mazzon allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. At the other side the best for losing team was the former international point guard Massimo Bulleri (188-77) who recorded 18 points and 8 rebounds and Romanian power forward Vlad Moldoveanu (206-88, college: American, agency: Interperformances) added 11 points and 7 rebounds respectively. Umana Venezia moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Scavolini PS and Sidigas AV. Benetton Treviso lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the thirteenth position with nine games lost. Umana Venezia's next round opponent will be Banco di Sard. (#8) in Sassari. Benetton Treviso will play on the road against the league's second-placed Armani Milano (#2).
