There was a minor upset when 5th ranked Hap.Petah Tikva (5-5) was defeated at home by seventh ranked Bnot Hasharon (5-4) 92-77. The guests were ahead by 7 points but lost the second period ending it with a 1-point deficit before their 25-9 run, which allowed them to win the game. Bnot Hasharon made 23-of-29 charity shots (79.3 percent) during the game. Bnot Hasharon outrebounded Hap.Petah Tikva 37-24 including 24 on the defensive glass. The game was also dominated by American players. Swingman Karima Christmas (182-89, college: Duke) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 28 points and 11 rebounds. Forward Kerri Gardin (186-84, college: Virginia Tech) contributed with 24 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Forward Kaili McLaren (188-88, college: Connecticut) answered with 21 points and 8 rebounds and swingman Sheri Lynette Sam (183-74, college: Vanderbilt) added 13 points and 12 rebounds in the effort for Hap.Petah Tikva. Four Bnot Hasharon and five Hap.Petah Tikva players scored in double figures. Bnot Hasharon moved-up to sixth place. Hap.Petah Tikva at the other side dropped to the seventh position with five games lost. Bnot Hasharon's next round opponent will be Elitzur Netanya (#10) on the road. Hap.Petah Tikva will play against the league's leader Elitzur Ramla.
