There was a minor upset in Thessaloniki where 7th ranked Peristeri GS (5-7) was defeated by tenth ranked Aris (5-7) 71-66 on Wednesday. The hosts trailed by 3 points at the halftime before their 40-32 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. The former international forward Christos Tapoutos (208-82) fired 16 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. American-German forward Sergio Kerusch (195-89, college: W.Kentucky) chipped in 9 points and 7 rebounds. Aris' coach Vangelis Alexandris allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. American forward Ernest Scott (201-82, college: Valdosta St., agency: VVG Sports) produced 24 points and 9 rebounds and forward Haralampos Giannopoulos (206-89, agency: FCM) added 14 points and 7 rebounds respectively for lost side. Aris moved-up to seventh place, which they share with defeated Peristeri GS. Peristeri GS lost their fifth game in a row. Aris will face league's second-placed Panathinaikos in Athens in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
