Regular Season Round 23: Shandong FB - Guangdong ST 92-102

Leader Guandong Tigers delivered the eighteenth victory. This time they beat 12th ranked Shandong Bulls (9-13) 102-92 in Jinan. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Shandong Bulls. The game was mostly controlled by Guandong Tigers. Shandong Bulls was better in second period 24-23. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Shandong Bulls 49-31 including 34 on the defensive glass. Guandong Tigers brought some defensive toughness making 8 blocks. American forward James Singleton (203-81, college: Murray St.) orchestrated the victory by scoring 21 points and 9 rebounds. International forward Dong Hanlin (207-91) contributed with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 12 rebounds for the winners. Liberian-American forward Othello Hunter (203-86, college: Ohio St., agency: David Lee services) answered with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 11 rebounds (on 9-of-10 shooting from the field) and center HanLin Tao (206-91) added 15 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Shandong Bulls. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Guandong Tigers (18-4) have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They maintain first place. Shandong Bulls at the other side dropped to the eleventh position with 13 games lost. They share it with Jilin NE T. and Qingdao DS. Guandong Tigers will play against Foshan (#16) on the road in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Shandong Bulls will play against DongGuan Leopards (#4) and hope to get back on the winning track.
