Regular Season Round 23: Jilin NE T. - Shanghai S. 95-82

There was a surprise result in Changchun where thirteenth ranked Jilin Tigers (9-13) defeated higher ranked Shanghai Sharks (12-9) 95-82 on Wednesday. The game was mostly controlled by Jilin Tigers. Shanghai Sharks was better in fourth quarter 24-21. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The best player for the winners was American swingman Cartier Martin (201-84, college: Kansas St.) who scored 37 points (!!!) and 5 rebounds. Jordanian guard Osama Daghles (198-79, college: Midwestern St.) chipped in a triple-double by scoring 14 points, 11 rebounds and 11 assists. Four Jilin Tigers players scored in double figures. American forward Mike Harris (198-83, college: Rice) produced a double-double by scoring 24 points and 11 rebounds and the other American import forward Marcus Landry (201-85, college: Wisconsin) added 12 points and 8 rebounds respectively for the guests. Shanghai Sharks' coach gave the chance to play for ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Jilin Tigers moved-up to eleventh place, which they share with Shandong FB and Qingdao DS. Loser Shanghai Sharks dropped to the fifth position with nine games lost. Jilin Tigers will face higher ranked Zhejiang Guangsha Lions (#3) in Hangzhou in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Shanghai Sharks will play on the road against Liaoning Hunters in Yingkou and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
