Regular Season Round 13: Ikaros - Marousi 82-70

Bottom-ranked Marousi (0-13) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 82-70 loss to twelfth ranked Ikaros (3-10) in Kalitheas on Wednesday evening. The hosts trailed by 1 point after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 3-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 82-70. Ikaros shot the lights out from three sinking 12 long-distance shots on high 60.0 percentage. American-Mexican swingman Romel Beck (203-82, college: UNLV, agency: Interperformances) stepped up and scored 26 points for the winners and American guard Jimmy Baxter (198-80, college: S.Florida, agency: Court Side) chipped in 24 points. Ikaros' coach Aris Likogiannis used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. At the losing side the former international forward Nestoras Kommatos (203-77) responded with 23 points and 5 rebounds and guard Yannis Gagaloudis (192-78) produced a double-double by scoring 14 points and 12 assists. Four Marousi players scored in double figures. Ikaros maintains twelfth place with 3-10 record. Marousi lost their thirteenth game in a row. They still closes the standings with 13 games lost. Ikaros will meet at home higher ranked AGOR (#5) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Marousi will have a break next round.
