Regular Season Round 23: Xinjiang FT - Beijing Ducks 100-101

Tenth-ranked Xinjiang Flying Tige (10-10) made lots of trouble for third ranked Beijing Ducks (15-7) in Urumqi on Wednesday. The visitors from Beijing managed to secure only one-point victory 101-100. However their fans expected much easier game. The guests trailed by 9 points after first quarter, but they rallied back and won the game by 1 point. Beijing Ducks made 25-of-30 free shots (83.3 percent) during the game. It was a great evening for American guard Stephon Marbury (187-77, college: Georgia Tech) who led his team to a victory scoring 25 points and 8 assists. His fellow American import power forward Randolph Morris (211-86, college: Kentucky) helped adding 23 points and 5 rebounds. Four Beijing Ducks players scored in double figures. American swingman Tim Pickett (193-81, college: Florida St.) responded with a double-double by scoring 20 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists and international guard Tal Co (191-91) scored 22 points and 6 rebounds. Xinjiang Flying Tige's coach tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Beijing Ducks moved-up to second place. Xinjiang Flying Tige lost their third game in a row. They dropped to the ninth position with ten games lost. They share it with Shanxi Zh.. Beijing Ducks will meet Shanxi Zhongyu (#9) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Xinjiang Flying Tige will play against TianJin Rongcheng in Tianjin and hope to secure a win.
