Another exciting game was played in Sydney between fourth ranked St.Francis Xavier and 5th ranked Cape Breton where St.Francis Xavier (4-4) beat Cape Breton (3-5) on the road 66-56. The game was mostly controlled by St.Francis Xavier. Cape Breton was better in fourth quarter 17-15. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Center Kirsten Jones (183-89) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 10 rebounds. Guard Vanessa Pickard (180-92) contributed with 13 points and 5 assists for the winners. American guard Cassie Cooke (175-91, college: Mt.St.Marys) replied with 13 points, 9 rebounds and 7 assists and guard Jahlica Kirnon (170) added 11 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Cape Breton. Cape Breton's coach Fabian McKenzie rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. St.Francis Xavier maintains fourth position with 4-4 record. Cape Breton lost third consecutive game. They keep the fifth place with five games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
