Regular Season Round 14: Laurentian - York 45-70

The game between closely ranked teams ended with 7th ranked Laurentian's (2-9) home loss to sixth ranked York (5-6) 45-70 on Wednesday. The game was mostly controlled by York. Laurentian was better in fourth quarter 12-11. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Laurentian to just 7 points in first quarter. York forced 21 Laurentian turnovers. The best player for the winners was forward Llyandra Kerr (175) who scored 6 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists. Guard Brittany Szockyj (170) chipped in 15 points. Guard Erin Simpson (170) produced 15 points and 5 rebounds and forward Emma Decloe (183) added 8 points and 11 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Laurentian's coach Mike Clarke gave up on the game allowing to play twelve players seeing no chance for a win. York moved-up to fifth place, which they share with McMaster. Laurentian lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the seventh position with nine games lost. York will face RMC (#8) in Kingston in the next round. Laurentian will play on the road against Queen's in Kingston.
