Very expected game when 7th ranked Gold Coast Blaze (7-8) lost on the road to first ranked Perth Wildcats (12-5) 92-80 on Friday. The hosts trailed by 1 point after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 10-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 92-80. Perth Wildcats made 27-of-31 free shots (87.1 percent) during the game. They also forced 22 Gold Coast Blaze turnovers. Gold Coast Blaze was plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a good game for international forward Jesse Wagstaff (203-86, college: Metro St.) who led his team to a victory with 25 points and 5 rebounds. American guard Kevin Lisch (188-86, college: St.Louis, agency: Warren Sports International) contributed with 21 points and 4 assists for the winners. Dominican guard Adris Deleon (180-84, college: E.Washington) answered with 18 points and 7 rebounds and international guard Adam Gibson (188-86) added 15 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for Gold Coast Blaze. Four Gold Coast Blaze players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Perth Wildcats have a solid series of four victories in a row. Defending champion maintains first place with 12-5 record, which they share with Breakers. Gold Coast Blaze lost third consecutive game. They keep the seventh position with eight games lost. Perth Wildcats will face Kings (#6) in Sydney in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game.
