Regular Season Round 11: Snaefell - Valur 108-70

Bottom-ranked Valur (0-11) is still winless. This time they lost on the road their 11th consecutive match to ninth ranked Snaefell (5-6) 108-70 on Friday evening. The game without a history. Snaefell led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Snaefell forced 21 Valur turnovers and outrebounded them 47-33 including 32 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists comparing to just 12 passes made by Valur's players. The best player for the winners was American forward Quincy Hankins-Cole (203, agency: Hoops Ambassadors) who scored 24 points and 9 rebounds. His fellow American import guard Marquis Hall (183-87, college: Lehigh) chipped in 14 points, 7 rebounds and 8 assists. Five Snaefell players scored in double figures. Slovenian power forward Igor Tratnik (206-89) produced 19 points and 6 rebounds and American guard Garrison Johnson (196-88, college: Jackson St., agency: Strategic Sports) added 14 points respectively for the guests. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Snaefell moved-up to sixth place, which they share with 3 other teams. Newly promoted Valur still closes the standings with 11 games lost. Snaefell will meet at home Haukar (#11) in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Valur will play against Njardvik in Njardvik and hopes to get finally their first victory.
