The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Grodno-93 as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Grodno-93 smashed 5th ranked Minsk-2006 II at home 92-70. The game was mostly controlled by Grodno-93. Minsk-2006 II managed to win fourth quarter 23-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Grodno-93 dominated down low during the game scoring 68 of its points in the paint compared to Minsk-2006 II's 40. Grodno-93 forced 19 Minsk-2006 II turnovers and outrebounded them 43-28 including a 27-15 advantage in defensive rebounds. Grodno-93 looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. It was a good game for the former international forward Kanstantin Yafremov (202-86) who led his team to a victory with 16 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists. Swingman Evgeni Ivanov (202-84) contributed with 17 points for the winners. Lithuanian forward Ronaldas Rutkauskas (203-92) replied with 19 points and 8 rebounds and guard Valentin Ignatchik (192) added 19 points in the effort for Minsk-2006 II. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Grodno-93 (11-1) have an impressive nine-game winning streak. As mentioned above they are alone now at the top position. Minsk-2006 II lost third consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the fifth place with eight games lost. They share the position with SBK Osipovichi. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
