Regular Season Round 15: UBC Okanagan - TWU 69-73

Date: January 13, 2012
There was no surprise when 12th ranked UBC Okanagan (2-7) was defeated at home by eighth ranked Trinity Western (6-5) 73-69 on Friday. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But UBC Okanagan won fourth quarter 19-13. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Trinity Western forced 24 UBC Okanagan turnovers. It was a great evening for American guard Sarah Cleveland (173, college: Portland St.) who led her team to a victory scoring 21 points and 4 assists. Center Tiffany Olsen (188-88) helped adding 14 points and 10 rebounds. Four Trinity Western players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was center Roslyn Huber (182) with 26 points and 8 rebounds (on 12-of-14 shooting from the field) and guard Ashley Briker (163) scored 9 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Trinity Western moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Queen's and Lakehead.
