Very expected game in Winnipeg, MB where 12th ranked Cougars (3-7) were rolled over by fifth ranked Bisons (7-4) 116-87 on Friday. The game was mostly controlled by Bisons. Cougars was better in fourth quarter 30-24. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Bisons forced 29 Cougars turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by Cougars' players. Guard Kevin Oliver (198) fired 23 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. American guard Stephan Walton (175-87, college: Valdosta St.) chipped in 17 points, 7 assists and 5 steals. Walton is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Forward Connor Burns (201) produced a double-double by scoring 17 points and 10 rebounds and guard Sterling Nostedt (185) added 15 points and 5 rebounds respectively for lost side. Five Bisons and four Cougars players scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Bisons have an impressive five-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place, which they share with 4 other teams. Loser Cougars keep the twelfth position with seven games lost. Bisons will face again Cougars (#12) in Regina, SK in the next round and are hoping to win another game.
