Regular Season Round 16: New Brunsw. - UPEI 80-77

A very close game took place in Fredericton, NB between Varsity Reds and Panthers. Seventh ranked Varsity Reds (3-6) got a very close home victory over much higher ranked Panthers (6-3). Varsity Reds managed to escape with a 3-point win 80-77 on Friday evening. The hosts trailed by 3 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 11-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 80-77. Worth to mention a great performance of guard Alex Desroches (193) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 20 points and 14 rebounds and Michael Fosu who added 16 points and 5 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side guard Terrence Brown (186) responded with 22 points and 4 assists and Donathan Moss scored 12 points and 9 rebounds. Five Varsity Reds and four Panthers players scored in double figures. Varsity Reds maintains seventh position with 3-6 record. Panthers lost third consecutive game. They keep the second place with three games lost. Varsity Reds will meet at home higher ranked Axemen (#5) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Panthers will play against the league's leader X-Men having rather not much hope for a victory.
