Bottom-ranked Jiangsu Dragons managed to get the third consecutive victory on Friday night. This time they won against fourteenth-ranked Bayi Fubang in Nanjing 112-94. It's especially surprising that the victory came too easily and 18-point difference suggests that Jiangsu Dragons is in a good shape to leave the bottom place. The game was mostly controlled by Jiangsu Dragons. Bayi Fubang managed to win fourth quarter 27-22. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Jiangsu Dragons forced 21 Bayi Fubang turnovers. The winners were led by international swingman Li Yi (203-85) who scored that evening 24 points and 5 rebounds and American-Lebanese power forward Jackson Vroman (208-81, college: Iowa St.) supported him with 16 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals. Even 12 points and 9 rebounds by the former international center ZhongHao Xu (212-90) did not help to save the game for Bayi Fubang. The former international center ZhiZhi Wang (214-77) added 17 points and 5 rebounds. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Jiangsu Dragons have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to fifteenth place, which they share with TianJin R. Loser Bayi Fubang keeps the fourteenth position with 14 games lost. Jiangsu Dragons will meet higher ranked Zhejiang Cyclones (#6) in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Bayi Fubang will play against Beijing Ducks (#3) where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
