Bottom-ranked Quilmes MP managed to get a third victory, breaking the series of four consecutive loses. This time newly promoted Quilmes MP edged eleventh-ranked Wuber-Est.Bahia in Mar del Plata 78-76. It looked good early as Wuber-Est.Bahia took an 1-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Quilmes MP had a 31-16 second period charge getting the lead and Wuber-Est.Bahia was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 76-78. Wuber-Est.Bahia was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of American-Venezuelan forward Clarence Matthews (201-83, college: Tennessee St.) who helped to win the game recording 17 points and 8 rebounds. American swingman Michael Smith (201-76, college: La-Monroe) contributed with 16 points for the winners. Four Quilmes MP players scored in double figures. American-Puerto Rican guard Javier Mojica (190-84, college: Cent.Conn.St., agency: Paris Global Sports) answered with 9 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists and American power forward Jerome Meyinsse (206-88, college: Virginia) added 18 points in the effort for Wuber-Est.Bahia. Newly promoted Quilmes MP maintains sixteenth place with 3-10 record. Wuber-Est.Bahia lost third consecutive game. They keep the eleventh position with seven games lost. Quilmes MP's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Mar del Plata Penarol.
