The game between second ranked Penarol (10-3) and sixth ranked Lanus (8-5) was the most important one in the last round on Friday night. Penarol was defeated by Lanus in Buenos Aires 93-81. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Penarol. The hosts trailed by 8 points after first quarter, but they stormed back and won the game by 12 points. 24 personal fouls committed by Penarol helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities.
