No shocking result in a game when tenth ranked Xinjiang Flying Tige (11-10) crushed 15th ranked TianJin Rongcheng (7-16) in Urumqi 134-112 on Friday. The game was mostly controlled by Xinjiang Flying Tige. TianJin Rongcheng was better in fourth quarter 35-31. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Xinjiang Flying Tige dominated down low during the game scoring 84 of its points in the paint compared to TianJin Rongcheng's 54. Xinjiang Flying Tige forced 23 TianJin Rongcheng turnovers. TianJin Rongcheng was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a good game for American swingman Tim Pickett (193-81, college: Florida St.) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 55 points (!!!) and 12 rebounds. The other American import forward Gani Lawal (206-88, college: Georgia Tech) contributed with a double-double by scoring 25 points and 10 rebounds (on 12-of-15 shooting from the field) for the winners. American power forward Donnell Harvey (203-80, college: Florida) replied with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 11 rebounds and guard Chun Shentu (187-90) added 25 points in the effort for TianJin Rongcheng. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Xinjiang Flying Tige moved-up to ninth place, which they share with Shanxi Zh. Loser TianJin Rongcheng keeps the fifteenth position with 16 games lost. Xinjiang Flying Tige will face Qingdao Double Star (#11) on the road in the next round. TianJin Rongcheng will play against Shanxi Zhongyu (#9) in Taiyuan.
