No shocking result in a game in Parana where fifth ranked Sionista (8-5) defeated 12th ranked Club 9 (4-10) 83-73 on Friday. The game was mostly controlled by Sionista. Club 9 was better in third quarter 16-15. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The former international swingman Matias Sandes (201-84) fired a double-double by scoring 22 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. Puerto Rican guard Johwen Villegas (193-85, college: FIU) chipped in 18 points and 5 rebounds. Four Sionista players scored in double figures. Sionista's coach Sebastian Svetliza used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. American power forward Jazwin Cowan (205-83, college: Hampton, agency: Dream Team Management) produced a double-double by scoring 18 points and 13 rebounds and Panamanian forward Josimar Ayarza (205-87, college: S.Mississippi) added 22 points and 5 rebounds respectively for lost side. Sionista moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Atenas and Lanus. Club 9 at the other side dropped to the thirteenth position with ten games lost. Sionista will face league's leader Obras in Buenos Aires in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Club 9 will play on the road against San Martin Corrientes (#14) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
