There was a minor upset in Azpeitia where 7th ranked Fontedoso Carrefour (6-6) was defeated by ninth ranked Lan Mobel ISB (5-7) 66-53 on Friday. The hosts trailed by 2 points at the halftime before their 35-20 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Lan Mobel ISB forced 24 Fontedoso Carrefour turnovers. American-French guard Alfredo Ott (193-83, college: Dillard) stepped up and scored 20 points and 6 rebounds for the winners and Nigerian power forward Olasumbo Atoyebi (203-88, college: Elon) chipped in 12 points and 7 rebounds. At the losing side Guinean forward Cheick Sekou Conde (203-92) responded with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 10 rebounds and point guard Sergio Llorente (188-90) scored 10 points. Loser Fontedoso Carrefour dropped to the eighth position with six games lost.
