A1 top team - Athinaikos (13-0) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed eighth ranked Aris (4-9) in Athens 63-43. The game without a history. Athinaikos led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Aris to just 7 points in first quarter. Athinaikos dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Aris' 32. They outrebounded Aris 45-25 including a 17-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. International guard Olga Hatzinikolaou (181-81) nailed a double-double by scoring 11 points and 15 rebounds for the winning side and British power forward Chantelle Handy (191-87, college: Marshall) accounted for 16 points and 7 rebounds. Athinaikos' coach Giorgos Zeygolis allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Center Fedra Skiadopoulou (191-90) came up with 11 points and 9 rebounds and guard Roula Mouli (177-85) added 12 points and 7 rebounds respectively for Aris in the defeat. Athinaikos have an impressive series of twelve victories in a row. Defending champion maintains first place with 13-0 record. Aris at the other side keeps the eighth position with nine games lost.
