The most surprising game was a loss of top-ranked Caja Laboral (12-4) in Vitoria on Saturday night. Hosts were defeated by thirteenth ranked Assignia Manresa (7-9) 76-65. It ended at the same time the 11-game winning streak of Caja Laboral. The guests trailed by 4 points at the halftime before their 39-24 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Worth to mention a great performance of American-Dominican power forward Josh Asselin (211-78, college: Michigan, agency: Duran International) who helped to win the game recording 28 points and 6 rebounds (on 11-of-14 shooting from the field) and American guard Micah Downs (203-86, college: Gonzaga, agency: Priority Sports) who added 23 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists during the contest. At the losing side Bosnian forward Mirza Teletovic (206-85, agency: Beo Basket) responded with 12 points and 8 rebounds and Italian-Argentinian guard Pablo Prigioni (191-77) scored 9 points and 5 assists. Assignia Manresa moved-up to tenth place, which they share with Gescrap BB and Lagun Aro GBC. Caja Laboral at the other side dropped to the third position with four games lost. They share it with Unicaja. Assignia Manresa is looking forward to face higher ranked Unicaja Malaga (#3) at home in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Caja Laboral will play against the league's leader Real Madrid having rather not much hope for a victory.
