Very expected game in Thessaloniki where 10th ranked PAOK (4-9) was defeated by second ranked Esperides (11-2) 69-59 on Saturday. Esperides outrebounded PAOK 48-25 including a 37-15 advantage in defensive rebounds. American center Latoya Williams (193-87, college: Chipola JC) fired a double-double by scoring 26 points and 18 rebounds for the winners. Guard Roula Kalogirou (172-81) chipped in a double-double by scoring 11 points, 9 rebounds, 10 assists and 4 steals. Four Esperides players scored in double figures. American guard Quenese Davis (178-88, college: San Diego St.) produced 23 points and swingman Stavroula Spanidou (180-84) added 9 points and 10 rebounds respectively for lost side. Esperides maintains second place with 11-2 record having just two points less than leader Athinaikos. Newly promoted PAOK dropped to the eighth position with nine games lost. They share it with Aris and Kronos AD. Esperides will meet at home Apollon Kal. (#11) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. PAOK will play against DAS Ano Liosa and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
