Regular Season Round 26: Nilan Bisons - Kauhajoki 87-70

An interesting game for Loimaan Korikonkarit (16-5) which hosted in Loimaa one of their biggest challengers Kauhajoen Karhu (15-9). Second ranked Loimaan Korikonkarit had an easy win 87-70. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Kauhajoen Karhu. It looked good early as Kauhajoen Karhu took an 1-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Loimaan Korikonkarit had a 28-13 second period charge getting the lead and Kauhajoen Karhu was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 70-87. Loimaan Korikonkarit shot the lights out from three nailing 14 long-distance shots on high 53.8 percentage. American players dominated the game. Guard Martin Zeno (196-85, college: Texas Tech) scored 35 points (!!!) and 5 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and guard Jeb Ivey (190-80, college: Portland St.) chipped in 16 points and 9 assists during the contest. point guard Clevin Hannah (180-87, college: Wichita St., agency: Court Side) responded with 33 points (!!!) and forward Kelly Beidler (199-88, college: Mt.St.Mary's, agency: R.H.Consultancy) scored 7 points and 13 rebounds. Loimaan Korikonkarit have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 16-5 record having seven points less than leader Kataja. Kauhajoen Karhu at the other side keeps the third place with nine games lost. Loimaan Korikonkarit will play against bottom-ranked Namika Lahti (#11) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Kauhajoen Karhu will play against Torpan Pojat (#4) in Helsinki and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
