Regular Season Round 15: Le Havre - Toulouse 47-71

Very expected game when 11th ranked Le Havre (5-10) was smashed at home by third ranked Toulouse (11-4) 71-47. It looked good early as Le Havre took an 4-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Toulouse had a 21-10 second period charge getting the lead and Le Havre was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 47-71. Toulouse dominated down low during the game scoring 42 of its points in the paint compared to Le Havre's 22 and made 20-of-26 charity shots (76.9 percent) during the game. Toulouse forced 26 Le Havre turnovers. The best player for the winners was forward Emilie Maurice (186-82) who scored 16 points and 5 rebounds. Forward Maud Medenou (188-90) chipped in 6 points and 13 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was point guard Bintou Dieme (165-84) who recorded 8 points and 7 rebounds and Danish guard Ida Pretzmann (174-90, college: TCU) added 11 points respectively. Le Havre's coach Laurent Chamu gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. The victory was the third consecutive win for Toulouse. They moved-up to second place, which they share with COB Calais. Le Havre lost their fourth game in a row. They keep the eleventh position with ten games lost. Toulouse's next round opponent will be bottom-ranked CFBB (#14) in Paris which should be another easy win for them. Le Havre will play at home against Reims and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
