Regular Season Round 16: Unicaja - UCAM Murcia 87-79

Very expected game when 18th ranked UCAM Murcia (4-12) was defeated on the road by fourth ranked Unicaja Malaga (12-4) 87-79 on Saturday. UCAM Murcia trailed by 16 points at halftime and as many as 20 after three quarters before a 27-15 last quarter charge cut the deficit to 79-87 at the end of the game. Unicaja Malaga shot the lights out from three sinking 12 long-distance shots on high 52.2 percentage. Croatian forward Hrvoje Peric (203-85) fired 18 points (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) for the winners. Latvian guard Kristaps Valters (190-81) chipped in 14 points and 4 assists. Guard Andres Miso (199-83) produced 22 points and 4 assists and guard Jordi Grimau (195-83) added 15 points and 4 assists respectively for lost side. Five Unicaja Malaga and four UCAM Murcia players scored in double figures. Unicaja Malaga moved-up to third place, which they share with Caja Laboral. UCAM Murcia lost third consecutive game. Newly promoted team stay at the bottom position with 12 games lost. They share it with B.de Rueda V. and Blusens M.. Unicaja Malaga will meet Assignia Manresa (#11) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. UCAM Murcia will play against Lagun Aro GBC (#10) in San Sebastian and hope to secure a win.
