Regular Season Round 15: UMKS Kielce - Staco MNLK 91-73

There was no surprise when 10th ranked Staco MNLK (6-8) was defeated on the road by second ranked UMKS Kielce (10-4) 91-73 on Saturday. The hosts trailed by 3 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 15-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 91-73. UMKS Kielce shot 60.7 percent from the field. They also forced 20 Staco MNLK turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. The best player for the winners was center Dariusz Kolacz (206-88) who scored 17 points and 8 rebounds. point guard Hubert Makuch (179-85) chipped in 12 points and 9 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was guard Szymon Kunc (193-80) who recorded a double-double by scoring 15 points and 10 rebounds and forward Przemyslaw Ostrowski (194-86) added 22 points respectively. Five UMKS Kielce and four Staco MNLK players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the third consecutive win for UMKS Kielce. They maintain second place in Group C with 10-4 record having just three points less than leader PWiK Piaseczno. Loser Staco MNLK dropped to the ninth position with eight games lost. UMKS Kielce will face Pulaski Warka (#13) on the road in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Staco MNLK will play against UKS Siemaszka (#9) in Piekary and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
