The game between closely ranked teams ended with second-ranked Citadines' (4-4) road loss to leader Stingers (5-0) in Montreal, QC 63-68 on Saturday. The hosts trailed by 6 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 4-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 68-63. Stingers outrebounded Citadines 37-21 including 24 on the defensive glass. Forward Evens Laroche (193) orchestrated the victory by scoring 17 points. Forward Zach Brisebois (201) contributed with 9 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. Guard Eric Cote-Kougnima (193-88) answered with 7 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists and forward Gregory Saint-Amand (193-88) added 14 points in the effort for Citadines. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for Stingers. They maintain first place with 5-0 record. Loser Citadines dropped to the third position with four games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
