Regular Season Round 17: McMaster - Windsor 74-78

Very important is a home loss of third ranked Marauders (9-3) against fourth ranked Lancers (9-3) on Saturday night. Host Marauders were defeated by Lancers in a tough game in Hamilton, ON 74-78. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Marauders. The guests were already 11 points ahead after 3 quarters before a 19-12 Marauders' run in the last quarter cut the lead to 78-74 at the end of the game. Lancers dominated down low during the game scoring 42 of its points in the paint compared to Marauders' 22. The best player for the winners was international forward Lien Phillip (203-89) who had a double-double by scoring 12 points, 15 rebounds and 4 assists. Guard Enrico Diloreto (186-90) chipped in 17 points. Five Lancers players scored in double figures. Guard Victor Raso (193) produced a double-double by scoring 12 points and 11 rebounds (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line) and Adam Presutti added 20 points respectively for the hosts. Marauders' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Lancers have an impressive series of six victories in a row. They moved-up to third place, which they share with McMaster. Lancers' next round opponent will be Mustangs (#8) in London, ON which should be theoretically an easy game.
