Regular Season Round 14: Centrum - Langhus 78-53

The most interesting game was a derby match between two local teams from Oslo: Centrum (#5) and Langhus IL (#8). Centrum (8-6) smashed visiting Langhus IL (0-16) by 25 points 78-53. The game was mostly controlled by Centrum. Langhus IL managed to win fourth quarter 18-12. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Centrum dominated down low during the game scoring 44 of its points in the paint compared to Langhus IL's 24. They outrebounded Langhus IL 50-28 including a 15-4 advantage in offensive rebounds. The former international point guard Mustafa Mahnin (182-80) orchestrated the victory by scoring 19 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. American-German forward Marco Sanders (202-79, college: Point Park) contributed with 11 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Four Centrum players scored in double figures. Guard David Crouch (-86) replied with 18 points and 7 rebounds and center Gisle Klubnes (202-84) added 10 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Langhus IL. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Centrum have a solid four-game winning streak. Newly promoted Centrum maintains fifth position with 8-6 record. Langhus IL at the other side, also newcomer in the league, still closes the standings. Centrum are looking forward to face higher ranked Tromso (#4) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Langhus IL will have a break next round.
