Regular Season Round 14: OFI - Arkadikos 64-62

The most exciting game of round 14 in the A2 took place in Heraklion. This derby game ended with only two-point defeat on the road of 5th ranked Arkadikos (7-7) to sixth ranked OFI (8-6) 64-62 on Saturday evening. The hosts trailed by 5 points at the halftime before their 20-8 charge in the third quarter, which allowed them to win the game. American-Icelandic guard Darrel Lewis (192-76, college: Lincoln, MO) orchestrated the victory by scoring 18 points and 7 rebounds. Center Stavros Toutziarakis (210-87, agency: FCM) contributed with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. OFI's coach Chris Hugaz used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Power forward Andronikos Gizogiannis (200-83, agency: FCM) replied with 18 points and 7 rebounds and guard Miron Papadakis (183-88) added 8 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists in the effort for Arkadikos. OFI moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Ikaroi Serron. Arkadikos at the other side dropped to the seventh position with seven games lost. They share it with 4 other teams. OFI is looking forward to face league's second-placed Apollon Patras on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Arkadikos will play against Periko/Arhelaos (#15) in Perikos and is hoping to win this game.
