There was no surprise when 5th ranked Comsum.it SI (6-13) was defeated on the road by first ranked Omegna (16-2) 79-70 on Saturday. The hosts trailed by 2 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 9-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 79-70. Omegna made 16-of-21 free shots (76.2 percent) during the game. They also forced 20 Comsum.it SI turnovers and outrebounded them 36-24 including 26 on the defensive glass. It was a great evening for guard Pierpaolo Picazio (193-79, agency: Players Group) who led his team to a victory scoring 16 points. Swingman Daniele Casadei (199-81) helped adding 11 points and 9 rebounds. At the losing side center Amedeo Tessitori (205-94) responded with 19 points and 8 rebounds and forward Corrado Bianconi (202-94) scored 18 points. The victory was the third consecutive win for Omegna. They maintain first place with 16-2 record. Comsum.it SI at the other side dropped to the fourth position with 13 games lost. Omegna will face Latina Basket (#4) on the road in the next round. Comsum.it SI will play against the league's second-placed Orlandina and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
