Regular Season Round 14: Alghero - O.G. Collegno 73-55

We could consider it a predictable result in the game between close teams when twelfth ranked Alghero (4-11) defeated at home 11th ranked Pall.Piemonte (4-11) 73-55 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Alghero. Pall.Piemonte was better in third quarter 16-13. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Alghero forced 28 Pall.Piemonte turnovers. The best player for the winners was Bulgarian power forward Radostina Slavova-Naneva (188-86) who had a double-double by scoring 27 points and 14 rebounds. Guard Elisa Donati (170-80) chipped in 19 points and 4 assists. Alghero's coach Andrea Paccarie used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Forward Serena Pignetti (177-83) produced 15 points and 5 rebounds and guard Paola Montanaro (168-89) added 13 points and 5 steals respectively for the guests. Alghero moved-up to eleventh place in North, which they share with O.G. Collegno. Pall.Piemonte lost eighth consecutive game. Alghero will face higher ranked Marghera (#7) in Venezia in the next round and it may be quite challenging game.
