Regular Season Round 16: Visby - Eos 80-73

Rather expected game when 9th ranked IK Eos (4-10) were defeated on the road by sixth ranked Visby Ladies (7-7) 80-73 on Saturday. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But IK Eos won third quarter 17-13. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when Visby Ladies won last quarter 18-13. They also forced 20 IK Eos turnovers. American guard Jeannie Saunders (173-86, college: Salem Intern.) fired 23 points and 4 assists for the winners. Guard Eva Hagg-Myntti (171-88) chipped in 15 points. Naturalized Russian forward Irene Otamiri (179-83, college: NC-Greensboro) produced 24 points and 7 rebounds and Danish guard Simona Bartkova (178-86) added 15 points respectively for lost side. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Visby Ladies have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain sixth position with 7-7 record. IK Eos at the other side keep the ninth place with ten games lost. Visby Ladies will meet higher ranked Solna Vikings (#3) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. IK Eos will play against the league's leader Telge (#1) and hope to secure a win.
