Regular Season Round 12: Gimle - Ammerud 64-54

Very important is a road loss of third ranked Ammerud (8-3) against fourth ranked Gimle (5-7) on Saturday night. Visiting Ammerud was defeated by Gimle in Bergen 64-54. The hosts trailed by 2 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 4-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 64-54. Gimle forced 25 Ammerud turnovers. The best player for the winners was American guard D'lesha Lloyde (183-86, college: Clemson) who had a double-double by scoring 24 points, 12 rebounds, 6 assists and 8 steals. The other American import power forward Amber Land (188-85, college: E.Michigan) chipped in a double-double by scoring 21 points and 13 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was center Marianne Sand (183-93) who recorded 16 points and international center Tina Nesse (184-84) added 8 points and 7 rebounds respectively. Ammerud's coach Patxi Exposito rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Gimle maintains fourth position with 5-7 record. Newly promoted Ammerud keeps the third place with three games lost. Gimle will meet league's second-placed Ulriken in the next round and it may be the game of the week. Ammerud's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Oslo Ullern.
