Very important is a road loss of third ranked CS Bologna (10-6) against fifth ranked Bennet Cantu (10-6) on Saturday night. Visiting CS Bologna was defeated by Bennet Cantu in a tough game in Cantu 72-78. CS Bologna was ahead by 3 points at the halftime before a 31-17 third quarter run of Bennet Cantu. American forward Maarten Leunen (206-85, college: Oregon) orchestrated the victory by scoring 17 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists. Georgian center Giorgi Shermadini (216-89) contributed with 14 points and 7 rebounds (perfect from the field making all six shots) for the winners. Bennet Cantu's coach Andrea Trinchieri allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Finnish guard Petteri Koponen (194-88) answered with 14 points and the former international power forward Angelo Gigli (209-83) added 15 points in the effort for CS Bologna.
