There was a small surprise when twelfth ranked Olimp MKS Start Lublin (8-9) defeated at home 9th ranked Polonia (9-8) 73-68 on Saturday. Polonia trailed by 11 points after 3 quarters before a 23-17 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 68-73 at the end of the game. Olimp MKS Start Lublin forced 20 Polonia turnovers. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Olimp MKS Start Lublin made 8 blocks. It was a good game for power forward Sergiusz Prazmo (205-87) who led his team to a victory with 14 points and 8 rebounds. Guard Sebastian Szymanski (186-91, agency: Promotex) contributed with 21 points for the winners. Forward Artur Mikolajko (197-79) replied with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 14 rebounds and guard Michal Musijowski (180-89) added 6 points, 7 rebounds, 5 assists and 6 steals in the effort for Polonia. Polonia's coach Maciej Milan tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Olimp MKS Start Lublin moved-up to eleventh place. Newly promoted Polonia keeps the ninth position with eight games lost. Olimp MKS Start Lublin will face MOSiR Krosno (#14) on the road in the next round.
