Very important is a road loss of third ranked Solna Vikings (11-4) against fourth ranked Mark Basket (11-4) on Sunday night. Visiting Solna Vikings were defeated by Mark Basket in a tough game in Kinna 67-72. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Solna Vikings. The hosts started the game with a very strong first quarter 22-12. But Solna Vikings won second period 25-19. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Mark Basket forced 23 Solna Vikings turnovers. Solna Vikings were plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. The winners were led by American guard Kristin Turk (172-89, college: Drake) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 25 points and 10 rebounds and the other American import guard Ashley Key (177-85, college: N.Carolina St.) supported her with 17 points, 11 rebounds, 4 assists and 5 steals. Mark Basket's coach Frank Alm allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Even 19 points and 8 assists by Belgian guard Marjorie Carpreaux (165-87, agency: LBM Management) did not help to save the game for Solna Vikings. The former international center Katarina Andersson (191-83) added 15 points and 12 rebounds for lost side. Mark Basket have an impressive five-game winning streak. They moved-up to third place, which they share with defeated Solna Vikings. Mark Basket will play against Kvarnby (#10) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Solna Vikings will play against Visby Ladies (#6) and hope to get back on the winning track.
