There was a small surprise when seventh ranked Gold Coast Blaze (7-8) won against on the road 4th placed Melbourne Tigers (9-9) 73-60 on Sunday. The game without a history. Gold Coast Blaze led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Gold Coast Blaze outrebounded Melbourne Tigers 50-26 including a 33-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a good game for Dominican guard Adris Deleon (180-84, college: E.Washington) who led his team to a victory with 21 points and 8 rebounds. The former international forward Mark Worthington (202-83, college: Metro St.) contributed with 15 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. International power forward Cameron Tragardh (209-83, college: ORU) answered with 14 points and 6 rebounds and the former international swingman Daniel Dillon (194-86, college: Arizona) added 10 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists in the effort for Melbourne Tigers. Five Melbourne Tigers players scored in double figures. Gold Coast Blaze maintains seventh place with 7-8 record. Melbourne Tigers lost third consecutive game. They keep the fourth position with nine games lost. Gold Coast Blaze will have a break next round. Melbourne Tigers will play on the road against the league's second-placed New Zealand Breakers (#2) where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
