Rather expected game when 7th ranked AZS UWM Olsz. (6-7) was defeated on the road by fourth ranked Ksiezak Lowicz (9-5) 78-74 on Sunday. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But AZS UWM Olsz. won third quarter 21-14. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when Ksiezak Lowicz won last quarter 16-13. Strangely AZS UWM Olsz. outrebounded Ksiezak Lowicz 39-24 including 27 on the defensive glass. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Ksiezak Lowicz made 14 blocks. The best player for the winners was forward Kacper Kromer (204-87) who scored 23 points (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line). Center Adam Rajkowski (206-79, agency: Promotex) chipped in 13 points and 6 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was forward Krzysztof Kawalek (196-86) who recorded a double-double by scoring 15 points and 14 rebounds and Marcin Kowalewski (200-86) added 16 points and 9 rebounds respectively. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. AZS UWM Olsz.'s coach Rafal Kacprzak tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Ksiezak Lowicz moved-up to third place in Group A. Loser AZS UWM Olsz. keeps the seventh position with seven games lost. Ksiezak Lowicz will face league's second-placed Astoria Bydg. in Bydgoszcz in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. AZS UWM Olsz. will play at home against SMS PZKosz (#13) in Wladyslawowo.
