We could consider it a predictable result in the game between close teams in Las Palmas where fourteenth ranked Gran Canaria 2014 (6-10) defeated 13th ranked Asefa Estudiantes (6-10) 73-65 on Sunday. Asefa Estudiantes trailed by 15 points at halftime and as many as 16 after three quarters before a 21-13 last quarter charge cut the deficit to 65-73 at the end of the game. Gran Canaria 2014 dominated on the defensive end, holding Asefa Estudiantes to just 7 points in second quarter. Forward Javier Beiran (200-87) fired 16 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. American guard Marquez Haynes (191-86, college: Texas Arlington) chipped in 20 points.
