CBA top team - Guandong Tigers (20-4) had no problems winning another game. This time they beat seventh ranked Shanghai Sharks (12-11) 101-85. The game was mostly controlled by Guandong Tigers. Shanghai Sharks was better in second period 20-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Guandong Tigers made 21-of-26 charity shots (80.8 percent) during the game. Guandong Tigers outrebounded Shanghai Sharks 50-31 including a 30-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. Shanghai Sharks were plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. American forward James Singleton (203-81, college: Murray St.) nailed a double-double by scoring 27 points and 10 rebounds for the winning side and his fellow American import point guard Aaron Brooks (183-85, college: Oregon) accounted for 17 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists. Four Guandong Tigers players scored in double figures. American forward Marcus Landry (201-85, college: Wisconsin) came up with 23 points and 9 rebounds and international point guard Wei Liu (190-80) added 19 points respectively for Shanghai Sharks in the defeat. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The victory was the seventh consecutive win for Guandong Tigers.
