Very important is a home loss of third ranked Libertad Sunchales (10-4) against fourth ranked Atenas (9-5) on Sunday night. Host Libertad Sunchales was defeated by Atenas in a tough game in Sunchales 60-66. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Libertad Sunchales. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Libertad Sunchales won third quarter 17-10. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Panamanian power forward Jose Lloreda (201-80, college: LSU, agency: Paris Global Sports) scored 18 points and 9 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and the former international swingman Matias Lescano (196-79) chipped in 11 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists during the contest. American center Robert Battle (204-81, college: Drexel, agency: Dream Team Management) responded with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 11 rebounds and guard Jonatan Treise (182-85) scored 18 points and 5 steals (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line). Four Libertad Sunchales players scored in double figures. Atenas maintains fourth position with 9-5 record, which they share with Lanus and Sionista. Libertad Sunchales at the other side keeps the third place with four games lost. Atenas will play against Regatas Corrientes (#8) on the road in the next round. Libertad Sunchales will play against San Martin Corrientes (#14) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
