The game in Gent was also quite interesting. Fifth ranked Dexia Mons-Hainaut (7-6) played at the court of 8th ranked Optima Gent (4-10). Dexia Mons-Hainaut managed to secure a 5-point victory 70-65 on Sunday. The guests trailed by 4 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 3-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 70-65. It was an exceptional evening for American guard Quincy Taylor (196-82, college: UAB) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 11 rebounds. His fellow American import guard A.J. Slaughter (191-87, college: W.Kentucky) accounted for 13 points and 8 rebounds for the winning side. American center Graham Brown (205-84, college: Michigan) came up with 18 points and 8 rebounds (perfect from the field making all eight shots !!!) and American-Puerto Rican guard Richard Chaney (196-84, college: Troy) added 14 points and 10 rebounds respectively for Optima Gent in the defeat. Dexia Mons-Hainaut maintains fifth place with 7-6 record. Optima Gent lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the eighth position with ten games lost. Dexia Mons-Hainaut will meet at home Belgacom Liege (#7) in the next round. Optima Gent will play against VOO Verviers-Pepinster and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
