Regular Season Round 16: Villeneuve - Arras 75-73

Important game to mention about took place in Villeneuve. Twelfth ranked Villeneuve D'Asco (6-10) saved a 2-point victory at home edging 9th ranked Arras (6-9) 75-73 on Sunday evening. The hosts trailed by 3 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 2-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 75-73. Worth to mention a great performance of Nigerian center Olayinka Sanni (188-86, college: W.Virginia, agency: Josep and Nicolas) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 24 points and 11 rebounds and the former international swingman Emilie Gomis (180-83) who added 22 points and 6 rebounds during the contest. Four Villeneuve D'Asco players scored in double figures. At the losing side DR Congolese power forward Pauline Akonga Nsimbo (188-82, agency: LBM Management) responded with 28 points and 8 rebounds and Russian Nadezhda Grishaeva (195-89) produced a double-double by scoring 10 points and 10 rebounds. Villeneuve D'Asco moved-up to eleventh place. Loser Arras dropped to the tenth position with nine games lost. Villeneuve D'Asco will face higher ranked Charleville-Mezieres (#8) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game.
