Premier League top team - Maccabi T-A (11-1) had no problems winning another game on Monday. This time they crushed fifth ranked Ironi Ashkelon (6-6) in Tel-Aviv 108-75. The game without a history. Maccabi T-A led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Maccabi T-A outrebounded Ironi Ashkelon 39-28 including 27 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. American swingman Keith Langford (193-83, college: Kansas) nailed 21 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists for the winning side and international power forward Lior Eliyahu (206-85, agency: Z.A.G. - Law Offices) accounted for 18 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists. Maccabi T-A's coach David Blatt felt very confident that he used 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American swingman Dwayne Mitchell (196-82, college: La-Lafayette, agency: Interperformances) came up with 12 points and 9 rebounds and the former international guard Raviv Limonad (192-84) added 11 points and 5 assists respectively for Ironi Ashkelon in the defeat. Five Maccabi T-A and four Ironi Ashkelon players scored in double figures. Maccabi T-A have an impressive series of seven victories in a row. Defending champion maintains first place with 11-1 record. Loser Ironi Ashkelon dropped to the sixth position with six games lost. They share it with B.C. Habikaa. Maccabi T-A will meet Elitzur Netanya (#8) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Ironi Ashkelon will play against Hapoel J-M in Jerusalem and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
