There was a small surprise when tenth ranked Elitzur Ramla (6-8) defeated at home 8th ranked Ironi Kiryat Ata (6-8) 80-74 on Tuesday. The hosts were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. Elitzur Ramla forced 20 Ironi Kiryat Ata turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. American forward Stacey Moragne (195-83, college: Mass.-Lowell) scored 19 points and 6 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and guard Or Zinderman (188-89) chipped in 20 points and 4 assists during the contest. American forward Tony Younger (200-80, college: Spring Hill, agency: Gross Zeev ISA) responded with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 10 rebounds and forward Raz Menashe (201-82) scored 14 points and 6 rebounds. Four Elitzur Ramla and five Ironi Kiryat Ata players scored in double figures. Elitzur Ramla moved-up to ninth place, which they share with Ironi K-A. Ironi Kiryat Ata lost fourth consecutive game. Elitzur Ramla will meet league's second-placed Hapoel Tel-Aviv on the road in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Ironi Kiryat Ata will play against Ironi Nes-Ziona (#7) in Nes Ziyona and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
